B insisted I share the profile so you can see the full hideousness of the hat :). I still think it’s practical for sunbathing purposes.

I wanted a cute baseball cap I could wear at the pool. I found this crochet baseball cap at Macy’s today. I couldn’t tell if it was cute or ridiculous, so I had to get it. When I showed B, he said, “it looks like something you put on a baby when they’re out in the sun.” Exactly.

B and I signed up for Y memberships on Sunday so I can start working out again. Earlier in the day I stopped at Nordstrom to check out some “activewear” that caught my eye last time I was there. They say their Zella line is comparable to lululemon but less expensive. I ended up getting this workout tee and pair of capris. It’s really hard to find workout pants that aren’t black—the saleslady said this gray is rare and that it’s one of their spring colors. I wore the tee to zumba last night, and I’m glad I had something kinda cute on, because that was the highlight of the class. It kicked my ass! And this instructor had different moves than any other instructor I’ve been to, so I had no idea what I was doing. But I felt sick afterward, so I think that means I got a good workout.

Happy National Buttermilk Biscuit Day (May 14).

The ironic thing is that I ate two biscuits on Saturday and one biscuit on Sunday, but none today. -NK

This is my Lucky haul from a few weeks back. I went to the mall after work on a Friday and they were dead, so I had the personal attention of one of their stylists who kept bringing stuff to me to try on. I would’ve gotten more, but just these four pieces were expensive enough.

The most graceful falling bear we’ve ever seen.

The bear landed safely on the padded mat.

“If a bear fell in the forest would anybody hear it?”

I imagine this is what’s going to happen when I go camping tonight. -NK

My OU gear. I had to get a new shirt and shorts when I was in Athens. And a pint glass for Brian. And a “The Post” glass for Brian. And a Post reunion Tshirt for myself.

Patron XO Cafe

Shelly introduced me to this last weekend. We had to track down the one bar at OU that has it. You wouldn’t think coffee and tequila would play well together, but it is pretty dang good!

Something I learned from my weekend at OU: The current college-girl uniform (for day) is black leggings and a hoodie. Footwear ranges from flip flops to boots, but the leggings have to be black and the hoodie can’t cover the butt.
I didn’t take a picture while I was there, but this is an example of what everyone wore—except this girl looks a lot cuter.
The night uniform was a stretchy, tight skirt that ended just an inch or so past the butt. There was some variety in the shirts, but most were black with colored skirts.
It had me thinking what the “uniform” was when I was in college 10 years ago. My best guess is hoodies with jeans. I looked at pictures from freshman year, and we wore sweaters out a lot with black or khaki pants, but it was also really freakin’ cold.

At OU, we would do pub crawls but call them shuffles. Every shuffle has a name, which the kids scribble on bathroom walls with their names. The best names I saw this weekend were the “Every day I’m shufflin’ shuffle” and the “‘Muggle, please’ shuffle.”
